The American Subcontractors Association of Wisconsin (ASA-WI) presented the association's awards for General Contractor of the Year, Architect of the Year, Superintendent of the Year, and Project Manager of the Year at the association's Annual Recognition Dinner to be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Wisconsin Club (Milwaukee, WI).

ASA Supports Payment Assurances for Custom Pre-Fabricators in California Appeal

ASA and ASA of the Carolinas' Legal Victory on Lien Rights in North Carolina: What It Means for Subcontractors

In this podcast, attorney Eric Biesecker of Nexsen Pruet, Greensboro, N.C., explains a July 2011 North Carolina Court of Appeals decision that helped preserve the value of subcontractors' mechanic’s liens in the state. ASA and ASA of the Carolinas filed a "friends of the court" brief in the case, Wachovia Bank National Association and Preserve Holdings, LLC., v Superior Construction Corporation. ASA tapped its Subcontractors Legal Defense Fund to pay the fees associated with its filing in this case.

ConsensusDOCS 2011: New and Updated

On Jan. 19, 2011, the ConsensusDOCS coalition, of which ASA is a charter member, released the first major revisions to its standard 750 subcontract agreement and 751 short-form subcontract agreement since the documents were originally published in 2007. ConsensusDOCS also released revisions to its prime contractor design-bid-build, design-build, and CM-at-risk documents, as well as revised qualification documents for subcontractors and constructors and two new documents. This podcast provides an overview of the changes.
