Milwaukee, WI - May 25, 2011 - The American Subcontractors Association of Wisconsin (ASA-WI) presented the association's awards for General Contractor of the Year, Architect of the Year, Superintendent of the Year, and Project Manager of the Year at the association's Annual Recognition Dinner to be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Wisconsin Club (Milwaukee, WI). The awards winners are selected based upon a nomination and balloting process among members of ASA-WI.
General Contractor of the Year was presented to Beyer Construction (New Berlin, WI). This is the first time the firm has received this award. The firm was recognized based on its smooth, efficient and well-coordinated jobs, the use of fair contracts in its agreements with its subcontractors, its record for prompt progress and final payments, its effective management practices, and its cooperativeness in dealing with necessary change orders.
Architect of the Year was presented to Eppstein Uhen Architects (Milwaukee, WI), the twelfth time the firm has been so honored and the fifth year in a row. One of the most successful architectural firms in Wisconsin, Eppstein Uhen Architects was recognized because of the quality of the firm's designs, its cooperation with technical problems, and its fair and open-minded ways in interpreting, explaining, and/or amending drawings and specifications when necessary.
Project Manager of the Year was presented to Shem Lemke of Hunzinger Construction (Brookfield, WI). Project Manager of the Year was presented to John Zak of VJS Construction Services (Pewaukee, WI). Both are first-time winners of their awards.
Established in 1986, the American Subcontractors Association of Wisconsin is the only association representing all subcontractor trades across the State. ASA-WI serves its members through advocacy, education, and through the promotion of successful relationships within the construction industry.
